Article 2, Section 1, Clause 1, states that the president and the vice president have to be re-elected every 4 years. The change that I make to this was that that president and vice president serve 10 year terms instead. I feel that the reason that the founding fathers chose 4 year terms is because 4 years isn't too long of a time and isn't too short of a time(kind of like “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”). Some of the positive effects of the change would be more power for the president which would allow more time to get new ideas ideas done, such as creating new projects/laws, and spending more time on them so they are more thorough and well made projects. This would also help saving money on elections because if they were every 10 years the elections wouldn't be as often, so less money would be spent. It also allows the president to make changes on ideas or laws that he feels need changing . The negative effects of this change include being stuck with a president (that could be bad) for 10 years and this could cause tyranny. An example of this would be Steve Jobs and apple. He was fired and apple started to go downhill with sales, but when he came back they created new technologies and had a very successful business. I do not support this change because it would give way too much power for the president, for too long which could get too his head and could cause tyranny, also because it would be unfair for other great candidates that could have great ideas.
